The European Council of Chiropractic Education (ECCE) has announced that its Commission on Accreditation has recommended full accreditation of the department of Chiropractic and Somatology at Durban University of Technology, Durban, South Africa with effect from 07 November 2009. This recommendation was endorsed by the Council. The period of accreditation is for three years with reaccreditation scheduled to take place in 2012-2013. The ECCE also have received an application for accreditation from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
